My Natural Hair Journey - 01

For my couple of readers who are interested in my natural hair journey, I will document it for you in a series of posts.  This will be post number 1.
In May of 2009, I big chopped! A big chop is cutting off a major part of your hair for whatever reason.

I was so excited and relieved.

I was relieved because I had finally gotten rid of all my damaged permed hair.

Although initially I was upset that the beautician had cut so much off. But after that shock, I was good!

So, my natural hair journey began.

I was new to the natural hair world then.  So, I did what any good natural does and researched the subject natural hair.

I tried all kinds of ingredients such as yogurt and bananas.

Would I try that combo again?  No.

I loved the results as far as how it looked!

But, I had banana pieces throughout my hair and you know we can't have that!

So, no I haven't tried any other foods in my hair since that day, but it was an interesting thing to try.  And try I did!

Although I must confess, I eat lots of bananas!

I eat them in cereal.

I use frozen bananas in smoothies.

But, no more on the hair.

Have you ever mixed any foods to apply to your hair?

Let me know in the comment section below!

Stay tuned for more of my natural hair journey.

And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you. -Isaiah 46:4
